The Builder's Anointing

We have entered into a Builder’s Anointing. That’s what I heard the Holy Spirit say to my spirit when we were at Intercessory Prayer recently. What is a Builder’s Anointing, Father? Does it mean we are going to buy some land and begin construction? Maybe, but I think it’s more than that.

In 1 Cor 3: 9- 11, we read:

For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building.  By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care.  For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.

From these verses we learn that the building is people–the church–being put together from the foundation up. We further read in 1 Peter 2:5 You also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. And again in Epehesians 2:22: and in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.

Yup–it’s definitely us! We are the building.

Then who are the builders? Ephesians 2 says the foundation is built by the apostles and prophets, joined together by Jesus Himself. And further that the apostles, prophets, evangelists, the pastor and teachers are in place to build the body. In 1 Corinthians, we read that someone else builds on the foundation. So the builders are us! Looks like we are both the building and the builders.

God also said He was ‘retooling’ us for this Builder’s Anointing. This speaks to me of being purposed and fitted to operate as apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers, so we are able to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up. (Ephesians 4:11-12)

Me retooled? Yes, you! He is asking, are you willing to be retooled, shaped, fitted, even though it might be uncomfortable or even painful sometimes? Are you willing to enter into the Builder’s Anointing to bring people into God’s Kingdom, and to help shape them by the Holy Spirit so that each one fits in his place?

It’s time! The Builder’s Anointing and Season is upon us! Say yes to the Holy Spirit’s prompting and allow Him to both fit you into His building and also to make you into a builder! I can’t wait to see how the Holy Spirit will build Catch the Fire Ottawa through each of us as we take our places.
